Perkins+Will occupy the 35th and 36th floors of the historic Mies van der Rohe-designed building at 330 North Wabash (formerly IBM Plaza). The firm of architects and interior designers completed a renovation of the space in 2009 which focused on incorporating sustainable design strategies. The renovation achieved LEED® Platinum Certification from the United States Green Building Council. Special attention was given to the efficient use of resources, including the reduction of water usage, the reuse of building materials, and the use of occupancy and daylight sensors to control lighting. A flexible and efficient work space, friendly to both the environment and the user, the office is the embodiment of the sustainable ideals Perkins+Will strive to implement in their projects.
