Keep Open House Chicago Free
Chicago is a city of 200 neighborhoods. By exploring new communities, we discover the complex cultures and histories of our city and ourselves.
In Open House Chicago, the Chicago Architecture Foundation invites you to uncover the stories behind these neighborhoods. Open House Chicago is a free, annual weekend festival that offers behind-the-scenes access to 150 buildings across the city. Explore repurposed mansions, hidden rooms, sacred spaces, private clubs, iconic theatres, offices, hotels, community murals and more—all for free.
Keep Open House Chicago free and accessible to all by donating to the Chicago Architecture Foundation. Then, on October 19-20, 2013, join Chicagoans and visitors to get out there and see the city like never before!

Open House Chicago 2012 Sponsors
The second-annual Open House Chicago was sponsored by Kemper Corporation, the Chicago Transit Authority, ComEd and Room & Board. Our media sponsors are the Chicago Tribune and NBC 5 Chicago. Additionally, over a dozen community partners worked with the Chicago Architecture Foundation (CAF) to plan Open House Chicago.
CAF is proud to work with our sponsors to provide Chicagoans and visitors the chance to explore Chicago’s neighborhoods. Open House Chicago gives these companies the opportunity to showcase their civic pride and connect with a diverse audience of city residents, suburbanites and travelers. As the largest architectural event in the city, Open House Chicago also gives sponsors extensive brand activation opportunities.
